Next season, experts expect an increase in barley and corn exports from Ukraine to China, said Elena Neroba, adviser to the president of the Ukrainian Grain Association for Analytics.
According to her, China is forced to reorient the country's meat consumption culture from pork to poultry. This is due to a reduction in the number of pigs in the country as a result of African swine fever, as well as a decrease in imports of soy, which is the main ingredient in pig feed, due to the trade war with the United States.
“China is likely to switch to poultry consumption. Cereals are used to feed poultry, it does not need such a large amount of protein, which is in soy, ”said Elena Neroba.
It was previously reported that due to the continuation of the trade war with Canada, China will be forced to find other suppliers of rapeseed. This was reported by an expert on the oil market, Yulia Garkavenko.
Such a supplier may well become Ukraine. But so far, Ukraine cannot put rapeseed on the Chinese market, since it does not own permits, they still need to be obtained.
While Ukraine does not yet have the necessary documents for the supply of rapeseed, it will sell only rapeseed oil to China.
