Breeders from Ukraine worked for a long time, tirelessly, in order to give the world a new kind of persimmon - persistent, productive and tasty. In the end, the researchers were successful, and today they introduced an innovative hybrid persimmon.
A breakthrough in the world of selection was made by Kherson farmers - the dean of the Kherson Agrarian University and his family.
“My parents grew a whole persimmon tree in their garden,” says Ivan Mrinsky. “They planted a tree more than once.” And this year we managed to collect a rich harvest: more than five buckets of persimmons! ”

“If you work closely in this direction,” Mrinsky is sure, “you can grow worthy competitors for overseas persimmons. And the taste of the local product will be much higher! "
According to Ivan, modern Ukrainian breeders, even of amateur level, have an excellent base for developing new varieties of persimmons. “Today we have at our disposal seeds of Eastern, Virgin and Caucasian persimmons, each of which has a lot of its advantages and features. Breeding a new hybrid variety will help farmers to grow a productive and adapted to our conditions culture, which is not afraid of changes in the Ukrainian climate! ”
Similar properties are just possessed by a tree grown in the Mrinsky garden. And, according to them, the advantage in growing persimmons in the fields of the Kherson region is the absence of pests that interfere with the development of the tree, and the diseases that persimmon suffers from all over the world.
