Czech independent analysts from the National Institute of Mental Health and Charles University decided to conduct a survey among the population of their country and find out which animals, insects and other creatures cause people to fear, panic and maximum disgust.
It is known that such animals as snakes (in particular, the viper), spiders, cockroaches, larvae of various insects, ants, caterpillars, as well as dogs, rodents and even cows with bulls were included in the rating.
Fortunately, farm animals were at the very bottom of the list of animals that inspire horror and disgust. It turned out that they were included in the rating due to the fact that many people in their lifetime experienced the attack of a vigorous cow or an aggressive bull.
Among two thousand respondents, the appearance of spiders (first place), poisonous snakes, as well as lice, tapeworms and other parasites, which are also included in the list, cause maximum disgust and fear.
Along with cows and bulls, the least fear in the surveyed audience is caused by dogs, cats, snails and frogs. But the red pandas, which for some reason are also included in the list of potentially disgusting animals, inspire much more horror than fish and even lizards.
