Following an investment of over £ 200,000, Cloughbane Farm, based in Tyrone, has launched a new series of herbal dishes.
A vegetarian set including casserole, lasagna and pasta pastries is now available in stores throughout the province. It also includes two dishes suitable for a vegan diet.
The range has already been awarded the industry award: “Pan with Spiced Lentils and Roots” was awarded the “Best New Product from a Small Company” award at the Food and Drinks in Northern Ireland Award Ceremony.Lorna Robinson, managing director of Cloughbane Farm, explains what led the company to develop the first meat-free products: “Consumer habits are developing and there has been an increase in demand for plant-based nutrition over the past 12 months. The advent of a flexible diet also means that these foods are no longer exclusively for people who follow a vegetarian or vegan diet — they are in demand in the mass market. ”
“The Cloughbane Veggi range includes a variety of low-fat and sugar-free foods, as well as gluten-free and dairy-free options. As with all our prepared meals, we developed these products on our farm using fresh, quality ingredients, most of which are locally grown, ”continued Lorna Robinson.
