Agricultural producers of the Troitsky district of the Luhansk region suffer losses due to the destroyed road R-66 Demino - Aleksandrovka - Svatovo.
This road is the only way that connects the region with other regions of Ukraine, since the railway connection with Troitsky has been blocked since the start of hostilities in 2014, the Agrarian Union of Ukraine reports.
“Due to the condition of the road, most suppliers refuse to deliver goods and export crops and finished products from the region, and those who agree will pay several times more for this,” the message said.In addition, farmers have to significantly overpay for the delivery of purchased equipment, fuels and lubricants and fertilizers. In the future, a destroyed road may lead to a failure of the harvest in the Trinity region, according to the Agrarian Union of Ukraine.
For information, in the Troitsky district there are 108 agricultural organizations and almost 2 thousand individual farms that cultivate 104 thousand hectares of land. Every year they receive 120 thousand tons of grain and 80 thousand tons of sunflower, which is the largest indicator among the districts of the Lugansk region. There are two plants for processing sunflower seeds in the region.
