The farming community of Buryatia is passionate about the unique process - local producers are trying to register local products under a regional brand.
In particular, Buryat farmers and butchers are trying to bring to the local brand level a special kind of lamb, as well as water extracted from the Baikal River.
According to the press service of the food and processing industry department of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic, the registration process is delayed: “If a trademark were registered, everything would be simpler and faster,” said Tatyana Polozova, head of the department. - Indeed, for these purposes, there are many companies and an engineering center that are authorized to facilitate the registration process. If we talk about registering a regional brand, then everything is much more complicated and confusing! ”
The problem was brought up for discussion at the seminar among local producers and manufacturers of agricultural products. The nuances of the situation were examined on March 21 within the walls of the East Siberian State University of Technology and Management, which is located in Ulan-Ude.
More than 70 experts, competent and interested in the issue, are now closely involved in accelerating the process.It should be noted that the Buryats intend to give the status of a regional brand to sheep meat, which is grown according to a unique method in the Dzhida valley near the Borgoy ulus.
