At the birth of a child, mothers have to deny themselves in many ways: in sleep, in free time and food. But sometimes I really want to eat something tasty and at the same time not harm either myself or the baby, who is breast milk. Mushrooms are a product that must be eaten with caution. The article is devoted to whether it is possible to eat champignons during breastfeeding.
Beneficial features
Champignons will help protect the mother’s body from the harmful effects of bacteria and fill it with vitamins of groups B, D, E. When used, the possibility of constipation is reduced. Champignons will help fill the shortage of iron, magnesium, potassium and zinc, which can occur during breastfeeding.
Pantothenic acid will relieve fatigue, reduce the effects of stress, which will also help reduce the risk of postpartum depression. It is also important that champignon is a dietary product (in 100 g only 27 kcal). It will keep the weight unchanged and tone the muscles.
Did you know? There are lotions for body and hair based on champignons. They are popular among cosmetologists and are very expensive.
Product selection
It is not recommended to pick mushrooms yourself. Firstly, it is possible to confuse them with a pale toadstool, and secondly, even edible mushrooms that have grown in the wild contain toxins that are contraindicated for mother and baby.
Buy better mushrooms that have grown in artificial conditions. But here you must be careful and check each instance well. The fruiting body should be fleshy, the hat should be white or pink. If you notice that the hat is dark in color or stained - you should not take such a product.
You need to smell the mushrooms. If the aroma is sour, then they can no longer be bought. You can not take specimens that are slippery to the touch. Look under the hat - there is a film that connects it to the leg. If the film is in place, then the mushroom is young and fresh. This is the best choice.
Allowed Cooking Methods
Mushrooms are a very difficult product for the body, especially for the baby, so the first time it is better to eat it for nursing mothers when the baby is 4-5 months old. The product can be eaten stewed, baked, boiled and only occasionally fried. It is better to refuse canned products. It is also undesirable to eat frozen mushrooms.
Important! If the baby is prone to allergies - champignons should not be consumed.
Limitations
Any product should be treated with caution and added a little to the diet. A day, you can no more than 50 g of mushrooms and it is better to add them to a soup puree or combine with vegetables. If after eating no negative reactions follow, you can add champignons to your diet again.
But remember that a week you can eat no more than 100 g of the product, per month, mushrooms can be consumed no more than two times.
Possible harm
After consuming champignons, nausea and vomiting, insomnia, headache and dizziness may occur. This applies to both mother and baby. The presence of bloating in the baby can also be the result of the use of mushrooms by the mother.
Organisms of the mother and baby become one when breastfeeding. And everything that a mother eats does not always benefit the baby. As for champignons, you need to weigh the pros and cons before adding them to the diet.
