The Board of Governors of the State Agricultural Fund of Bulgaria has decided to extend the terms under stage I of the scheme “Assistance in compensating farmers for expenses associated with the implementation of measures under the National Pest Control Program for Perennial Plantings in the Winter”.
The deadline for submitting documents to receive funds for pest control of perennial fruit crops, strawberries, raspberries and oil roses in the winter, applicable after the cold season, should be extended until May 15, 2020. And by June 30, 2020, the funds will be paid.
In order to get 1 kg of rose oil, it is necessary to process up to 3.5 thousand kg of flowers. The price of 1 kg of Bulgarian rose oil can reach up to 10 thousand euros.
Extensions are necessary to prevent the risk of COVID-19. This measure should ensure a continuous process of serving the beneficiaries and reducing the flow of farmers in the regional offices and the State Agricultural Fund. The postponed reception will give more opportunities for rose manufacturers to join the support scheme. They have been approved for new plant protection products already included in the National Pest Control Program.
The number of applications filed for the first stage of assistance in accordance with the 2020 Winter Spraying Scheme is 3,836, which in total is 23,557.29 hectares. This includes 340 applications submitted by oilseed producers on an area of 1,983.4 ha.
The Board of the State Agricultural Fund approved a financial resource of $ 3.3 million under the winter spraying scheme for 2020. Financial support is up to $ 152.4 per 1 ha of land, including VAT.
