The victims of ASF will again fall a huge number of pigs from Russian farmers. This time, a large-scale outbreak in the Kaliningrad region led to the need to destroy 43 thousand pigs of the pig complex of the Baltic Meat Company Three LLC, the press service of the Rosselkhoznadzor region shares.

The ASF epidemic affected the mother pig farm of the aforementioned company, as well as the slaughter point and two fattening complexes of the farm. Now there are a number of actions being taken to eliminate the consequences of the disease.

As part of these procedures, 42 thousand 811 pigs will be seized and destroyed, the ministry said. Regional Rosselkhoznadzor claims that this event has caused tangible damage to the entire livestock industry in Russia.

In this case, not only animals were affected by the African swine fever, but also people who lost their jobs. In addition, as a result of the tragedy on the farm, tax revenues to the budget were significantly reduced.

Earlier it was reported that in the Amur region, as a result of an ASF outbreak, 7 thousand pigs were destroyed. In the foci of the disease, work was carried out on disinfection, and posts were also set up that checked vehicles.
