The merciless sun and high air temperature in France for many weeks have had the most detrimental effect on the development of agricultural crops.
As a result, both French agriculture and the livestock industry suffer - as a result of the drought, it is not possible to provide local livestock with fodder and hay.
According to Didier Guillaume, who heads the French Ministry of Agriculture, today the country's authorities are asking agrarians to show maximum coherence and solidarity during the difficult times for the state.
For its part, the French government promises to provide state breeders with state subsidies in the very near future, the total amount of which will be one billion euros. This money will be allocated so that local breeders can buy straw for their animals.
At the moment, experts are calculating the total amount of damage that the drought caused to the country's agro-industrial complex. As soon as the amount is announced, farmers who suffered as a result of the heat and lost the crop will be compensated for the damage.
It is known that money for the allocation of compensation will be taken from the national fund under the Office for Agricultural Risks.
