The year 2018 was marked for Omsk breeders by two outstanding events: firstly, the specialists of the Stolypin University managed to develop a unique type of wheat, which not only shows miracles of frost resistance, but also is effective in the fight against anemia; secondly, Siberian scientists invented wheat with grains of purple color, which is literally “stuffed” with antioxidants useful for the human body and has high nutritional value.

We add that purple wheat is unusually productive and will allow farmers to receive up to one ton of grain per hectare. Such wheat can be cultivated for a dozen years, without the need for replanting. They called wheat with purple grains "Owl."
