Representatives of the horticultural branch of agriculture in the Moscow region began mass collection of strawberries at the beginning of this month.

And if last year, following the results of the harvest season, they managed to collect about two hundred tons of berries, then this year to date, the volume of harvested garden strawberries has exceeded four hundred and fifty tons.

Such information was shared by the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation. The department also adds that at the moment in the Moscow region expanses, eight horticultural enterprises of various forms of management are engaged in large-scale cultivation of strawberries.

Together, they successfully manage to grow strawberries on four and a half hundred hectares. It will not be superfluous to note that in the next few years, strawberry cultivation in the Moscow region should reach a qualitatively new level.

According to industry experts, very soon, over five thousand tons of strawberries annually can be obtained from the berry fields of the region.

As for the projected berry harvest this year, here the farmers are sure: according to the results of the season, they will probably be able to collect at least one and a half thousand tons of strawberries.
