In the village of Dudchany, Kherson region, the Diamant ChSP has been operating and developing for many years, which is one of the few in the south of Ukraine that specializes in growing various varieties of onions, storing them in a modernized refrigerator, and then selling them on the domestic and foreign markets.

“A modern refrigerator for storing vegetables was built on the territory of the enterprise, which was put into operation three years ago.

Earlier, storage of finished products was carried out on the basis of Green Team LLC, but over time, such storage became economically costly and management decided to build their own storage for storing sorted products, ”the report said.

The refrigerator consists of two storage chambers, each of which can store up to 800 tons of sorted product. In one day, machines can sort up to 550 tons of vegetables. Sorting vegetables into boxes is slower, because the process is complicated by replacing the boxes and pausing the tape.

Only a calibrated onion of size 4+ and above gets into the camera. Onions can be stored both in bulk and in boxes.

Representatives of the company said that the refrigerating chamber built at the enterprise is universal, it is suitable for storing all types of vegetables, equipped with a ventilation system, extends the shelf life and improves product quality.

Sorting and labeling of products is also one of the priorities of the enterprise, affects the subsequent marketing of products, including export. Now a new storage facility is being built on the territory of the enterprise, but for grain crops and they are completing onion harvesting.
