As noted by Andrei Ryumshin, head of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Crimea, peninsula farmers have begun harvesting peaches of early ripe varieties.
This suggests that in the very near future the long-awaited assortment of juicy Crimean fruits will appear on the market of the Russian Federation, albeit in a limited quantity.
It is known that the representatives of agricultural organizations of such districts as Dzhankoysky and Bakhchisaraysky were the first to enter the process of early harvesting.
According to Andrei Ryumshin, the harvesting campaign for peaches begins in the first days of July and can last until September, or even October - it all depends on the fruit variety and cultivation area.
Also, the head of the agricultural department noted, this year on the peninsula there are all the prerequisites for collecting even more peach crops than a year earlier. Note that in 2018, the total amount of peaches collected in Crimean orchards amounted to at least five thousand tons.
It will not be superfluous to add that this year the total area of the territories occupied for the cultivation of peaches in the vastness of the Republic of Crimea is one thousand three hundred hectares. Next year, farmers in the region intend to significantly increase this indicator.
