In connection with the drought, EU countries are increasingly buying from Ukraine ... ingredients for borsch.
Cabbage, onions, beets and carrots - these vegetables are in unprecedented demand in the vastness of the EU. The reason for this is the atypically arid weather, which this year provided the Europeans with a meager “borsch set” crop and exorbitantly high prices for domestic agricultural products. As a result, I had to turn to Ukrainian exporters for help.
Ukraine, taking this opportunity, sold more than 26 thousand tons of vegetable crops to Europe, which exceeded the previous season by 12.3 thousand tons.

Ukrainian onion is especially popular among Europeans. The volume of its exports increased by almost 8 times.
“Ukrainians today prefer to buy onions from suppliers from Central Asian countries. It is inexpensive and quite high quality, - experts explain. “Ukrainian exporters sell their own, domestic onions at European sites for a higher price.”
It should be noted that 90 percent of the total Ukrainian export is made up of the so-called “borsch set” - Europeans like vegetables from Ukrainian fields.
