Compared to December 1, 2018, the number of livestock in agricultural enterprises declined more rapidly than in households - by 6.5% and 3.2%, respectively.
In the context of regions, there were no extremes in the population of sheep and goats in households. But in industrial enterprises there are both rapid ups and downs.
The largest number of sheep is in China. There are 140 million of them in this country.
The leader in increasing the number of sheep and goats on December 1 of this year, when compared with the same date in 2018, became the enterprises of the Ternopil region - by 41.7% - up to 1.7 thousand heads. Zaporizhzhya region in second place with an indicator of 33% - up to 28.2 thousand goals.
The number of livestock in the enterprises of the Rivne region decreased by 66.7%, dropping to the level of 0.4 thousand. Almost half the number of industrial goats and sheep in Transcarpathia decreased - by 46.8% - to 4.1 thousand heads.
The largest numbers of livestock are in the Odessa region: both enterprises (41 thousand heads) and households (257 thousand heads).
Rivne region is the last in the number of sheep and goats among the regions. Farms of the population of the region hold 14.9 thousand heads, agricultural enterprises - 0.4 thousand heads.
