An acute shortage of labor is observed in the agricultural sector of Germany. To overcome it, local farmers are ready to invite workers from Ukraine, provide them with good housing and even organize a cultural program for them.
Earlier, many people from countries such as Romania and Poland worked on the fields of Germany. However, given the severity of the work, they began to "roam" into other areas.
Now the greatest shortage of workers is observed in the collection of asparagus and strawberries. Fred Eikhorst, Managing Director of the Association of Asparagus and Berry Farmers in Lower Saxony, believes that politicians should take measures to stimulate the influx of labor, including from Ukraine. In order to facilitate the work, it is proposed to buy additional equipment for harvesting. In addition, workers will be delivered food and drinks directly to the field, as well as provide them with comfortable living conditions.
At the same time, there are fears that due to a shortage of labor, farms will be forced to reduce production. And this will result in a guaranteed increase in prices for the end user.Earlier it was reported that the agro-industrial complex of Ukraine also lacks manpower, which is especially noticeable when sowing and harvesting.
